To commemorate Vahal Foundation’s anniversary in April 2023, we organized a thought-provoking symposium titled “Beyond Yahoo Yahoo: Harnessing Internet for Good Use”. This impactful event centered on empowering secondary school students to leverage the Internet for value-based activities and skill development, steering them away from fraudulent practices.
The symposium aimed to:
– Educate secondary school students on the vast potential of the Internet for good.
– Encourage the use of digital platforms for value-based activities and skill acquisition.
– Deter engagement in fraudulent online activities like “Yahoo Yahoo”.
– Foster a culture of positive digital citizenship among young minds.
By targeting secondary school students, Vahal Foundation sought to shape young minds towards ethical internet usage, equipping them with skills for a digital future. The symposium included interactive sessions, discussions, quizzes and insights on harnessing the Internet for personal growth, learning, and positive impact. The top two winners of the quiz were awarded a laptop each, partly sponsored by One Way Entertainment, USA.
“Beyond Yahoo Yahoo” emphasized the importance of using the Internet for:
– Learning new skills and expanding knowledge.
– Engaging in ethical online activities.
– Building a positive digital footprint.
– Contributing to society through digital means.
This symposium reflects Vahal Foundation’s commitment to empowering youth with the right values and skills for the digital age. By guiding students towards positive internet use, we aim to nurture a generation of responsible digital citizens.
